What is a Desktop App?
A desktop application is any software or program that runs on a PC, Apple computer, or laptop. A desktop app is installed directly onto your computer and does not necessarily require internet access in order to operate. The browser you are using to view this web page is a great example of a desktop application that accesses the internet. You have likely also used a word processor, calculator, or calendar program on your desktop as well that operates independently of the internet. These programs are great when they will only be accessed from specific computers and need full functionality without access to the internet.
